Casa di Marco Lucrezio sulla Stabiana The owner's name was derived from a fresco that featured an instrumentum scriptorium with a letter addressed to him. The house, (over six hundred square meters), has a very unusual layout on two different levels due to the merging of two previous houses. In the vestibule, a fresco depicting musicians is visible, which is why the house is also known as the House of the Musicians. The viridarium is particularly unique, designed to align with the main entrance to amaze those entering. The main scenic element is a marble fountain from which water flowed from a silenus. Around this feature, other statues were placed, currently displayed in reproduction, depicting Dionysus, satyrs, and animals.
