The House Of Marco Lucrezio Frontone

Marco Lucrezio Frontone’s house was that of a very important politician.  Beautiful affrescos surprisingly enough we actually know the artist who carried out this work, he was the only one to have  signed his work.
Paintings that really stand out are of mythical origin like the marriage of Venus and Mars, Bacco’s victory, Narciso and Arianna who offer the way out of the labyrinth, Neottolemo killed by Oreste, Perona her father Micone.
Again not less important is the garden  showing affrescos of hunting scenes.
Along with the numerous works of art, 7 bodies were also found , buried under the rubble, during the devastating earthquake. They tried to find cover, but in vain.
