Pompeii had 2 theatres, one which could house 5,000 spectators, this was called the Great Theatre and the other one which was covered could seat up to 1,000 people and this was known as the Small Theatre, or Odein. The front of the theatre has columns and statues and it is still used for theatre and shows. The smaller theatre was used for listening to poetry and music, you can still see the original marble flooring there today.
