    As curator, my goal is to translate the immense complexity of the ancient world into a fluid and accessible narrative. Experts will not find technical data here that they do not already know; our dialogue is addressed to the enthusiast who wants to understand how men and women lived, loved, and thought two thousand years ago, without getting lost in excessive technicalities.

    Often, Pompeii is mistakenly considered an isolated entity. My strategic vision, developed through decades of study and presence in the area, proposes an integrated approach that sees Salerno as the ideal logistical and cultural hub.

    By basing yourself in Salerno, you are immersed in a historical crossroads without equal. Within a radius of just 30 kilometers (18 miles), it is possible to experience firsthand the three roots of ancient Italy:

    • The Greek Soul: The solemnity of the Temples of Paestum.

    • The Roman Soul: The daily life preserved at Pompeii and Herculaneum.

    • The Etruscan Soul: The significant southern outpost of Pontecagnano.

    This proximity allows even the casual observer to make immediate comparisons and discover links that would otherwise remain invisible in a standard guided tour.

    About the Curator

    My name is Ettore Panella, and I coordinate this project on behalf of Starnetwork srl. Professionally, I work in technology and Artificial Intelligence, but my background has always been fueled by a passion for history and evolutionary psychology.

    Why evolutionary psychology? Because I believe that to understand Pompeii, it is not enough to look at the stones; one must question universal human drives. Studying how the ancients organized markets or social relationships helps us better understand who we are today. This site is my contribution to making this knowledge accessible to everyone, applying the analytical rigor of my technical background to a clear and passionate historical narrative.
